Derek Bartlett, President
Mr. Bartlett is an executive and professional geologist with over 50 years experience in the mining industry. Since 1992 he has held numerous positions with various mining firms. He has focssed on mining operations, management, acquisitions and exploration. From 1978 to 1992 he was vice president and exploration manager for gold fields Canadian mining limited, a subsidiary of gold fields of London England, the company founded by Cecil Rhodes. He was responsible for exploration and acquisition activities in Canada and the eastern U.S.A. from 1965 to 1979 Mr. Bartlett held numerous positions with New Jersey Zinc Canada limited, including regional geologist up to vice president and exploration manager. Mr. Bartlett currently serves as a director for Lund Enterprises Corp, Waseco Resources Inc. And is president of Newport Gold Inc. Mr. Bartlett holds a bachelor of science in geology from the university of New Brunswick.
John Arnold, CPA, CA BA – Director
Mr. Arnold is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Toronto and a Chartered Accountant. He has been a founding member of a number of successful companies, primarily in the natural resource sector, over the past 40 years. He has been an officer and/or director of Queenston Mining Inc. (TSX) Thundermin Resources Ltd (TSX)and predecessor companies, X-Cal Resources Ltd. (TSX) Cullaton Lake Gold Mines Inc. (TSX) Cobra Emerald Mines Inc. (LSE) and Newport Gold Inc. (OTC). He is the past non-executive chairman of a well-known University of Toronto affiliated research-based advanced reproductive technology clinic in Toronto. He has served on a variety of not-for-profit boards including as Governor of St. Margaret's Girls School (Elora), Governor of St. John's Kilmarnock School, Director of the Windermere Golf & Country Club, Director of the Riverbrink Art Museum and currently is a director and treasurer of the Weir Foundation and Craft Ontario.
Anthony M. McCabe, CPA, CMA, Bcomm – Director
Mr. McCabe is a graduate of University of Toronto and a Chartered Accountant. He is a Finance Professional with 15+ years’ experience in the consumer-packaged goods, travel, logistics and financial services industries with a focus on information technology and finance. His background includes experience in both privately held multinational and publicly traded companies in North America
Dr. Eric J. Reardon, International Scientific Advisor
Eric Reardon is a recently retired professor of Geochemistry from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Waterloo. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S. After receiving the Nova Scotia Mining Society Award for Best Undergraduate Thesis in 1969, he began graduate studies in the college of Earth and Mineral Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University. A year later, he passed a candidacy exam to enter directly into a PhD program. He studied Low-Temperature Aqueous Geochemistry under Dr. Donald Langmuir in the Department of Geosciences. After receiving his PhD in 1974, Dr. Reardon was appointed Assistant Professor of Mineralogy in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Waterloo. He became an integral part of the newly-developed Hydrogeology program at the time, developing a research program, and undergraduate and graduate courses in Mineralogy, Aqueous Geochemistry and Applied Thermodynamics. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1979 and Full Professor in 1987. During his years at Waterloo, he served two terms as Associate Department Chair and five years on the Board of Directors of the Waterloo Center for Groundwater Research. He also served as Associate Editor of Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta from 1987 to 2001. During his career, he took leaves of absence from University of Waterloo to work with researchers at the U.S. Salinity Laboratory in Riverside, CA; the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston, VA; the British Geological Survey in London England; the Department de Geologie at Université de Laval, Quebec; the Oregon Graduate Institute in Beaverton, OR; and the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia Charlottesville, VA. He currently has 90 refereed journal publications, and 70 contract research reports, symposium proceedings or newsletter articles. His area of research and scope of publications have ranged from Ore Deposits and Exploration; Waste Management and Remediation; Aqueous Geochemistry and Thermodynamics; and Cement and Concrete Research.
